Making Partnerships Work
Here is our contribution (in French) to the recent book edited by Anthemis, Le cabinet d'avocat à la rencontre du client. This book sets out the contributions to the seminar organised by the Belgian OBFG (Ordre des Barrreaux Francophones et Germanophones) on the subject of Law firm and client management of 23 April 2009, and where Barend was a speaker.
In our contribution, we talk about governance models for law firms, the importance of a shared project and shared values, the mix of a partnership approach and a business organisation approach, the need to invest in relationships among partners, the degree of involvment of the partners in the management of the partnership, the importance of relational and emotional intelligence, and the architecture of the partner compensation model.
